ABOUT FOUNDER


Charles Thompson has been working with high school students for over 30 years and has had extraordinary results helping students gain admission to highly selective 4-year residential colleges and preparing them for this transition.

As Founder and Executive Director of Sound Business, Inc. (SBI), a not-for-profit education services organization established in 1989, Thompson developed a program to prepare publicly educated high school students for admission into selective undergraduate programs.  Each year, Thompson works with over 100 students, from years 9 through 12, and their families on a comprehensive basis, mentoring them through each step of the college search and application process. As an educational consultant for Capital One's Student Banking Program since 2006, Thompson provides college advisory services to select groups of high school students from Maryland, New Jersey, and New York.  Thompson has made a substantial impact on the program by having 96% of the students in his program accepted into college. 

As an expert in the collegiate field, Thompson has offered affordable individual college advising services to students and their families since 2008.  All of his individual clients have gained acceptance to outstanding 4-year residential colleges. 

In 2008, Thompson founded TES to further expand his college advisement work.  With TES, Thompson offers affordable independent and group consulting services, conducts motivational speeches, and provides college site workshops.

Charles Thompson's passion for his work and dedication to his students has translated into tremendous outcomes.  Under his direction, over 90% of his pupils were admitted into selective 4-year residential colleges.
